Who You Are Is Not Your Shame
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17

Reflection
Shame is persistent because it tries to name us. It turns moments into identities and struggles into labels. Failure. Too much. Not enough. Still broken.
But God speaks differently.
In Christ, you are not your past. You are not your worst moment. You are not the version of yourself that shame keeps pointing to. God calls you new — not someday, but now.
This doesn’t mean you never struggle again. It means your struggle no longer defines you. Growth happens from identity, not toward it. You don’t change in order to become loved; you grow because you already are.
Shame asks, Who do you think you are?
Grace answers, You belong to Me.
Today, you are invited to live from the truth of who God says you are, even if it feels unfamiliar at first.
Prayer
Jesus,
Help me release the labels I’ve placed on myself.
Teach me to see myself through Your eyes, not through my shame.
Remind me who I am in You when old thoughts try to pull me backward.
Thank You for making me new and calling me Yours. In Your Name I pray.
Amen.
