Faith in Hard Seasons

Resting in the steady truth that you are deeply loved by God, fully known by Him, and never beyond His reach.

< Back

God remains present with His people through deep waters.

Isaiah 43:2

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

In Isaiah 43, God is speaking covenant comfort to Israel, assuring His people of His redeeming presence through severe trials. We should not turn this verse into a promise that Christians will never suffer harm. Its enduring truth is that hardship does not place God’s people beyond His presence or sovereign care.

God is my refuge when life feels overwhelming.

Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.”

Psalm 46 does not promise a life without upheaval. It points to God as the secure refuge of His people when the world around them feels unstable. In a hard season, we can turn toward Him for strength and help rather than pretending the trouble is not real.

Hard seasons do not mean God has abandoned me.

2 Corinthians 4:8–9

“We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Paul describes genuine suffering without minimizing it. He and his companions experienced pressure, confusion, persecution, and loss, yet God had not forsaken them. Difficult circumstances are not proof that God has left His people.
