God’s mercies are new for me each morning.
Lamentations 3:22–23
“Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!”
These words come from the middle of deep grief and devastation. Jeremiah’s hope is not based on changed circumstances, but on God’s steadfast mercy and faithfulness. Each new day gives us another reason to remember that God’s compassion has not run out.
Because Jesus is risen, I have a living hope.
1 Peter 1:3
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Peter grounds Christian hope in the resurrection of Jesus, not in favorable circumstances. This living hope comes from God’s mercy and gives believers a secure reason to keep trusting Him even when life feels uncertain.
God can renew my strength as I continue to hope in Him.
Isaiah 40:31
““But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah speaks to weary people who feared they had been forgotten. The promise points them back to the everlasting God, whose strength does not fail. Renewal is not a guarantee that every hardship ends quickly, but it does remind us that God is able to sustain His people as they continue to depend on Him.
