Rest & Weariness

Resting in the steady truth that you are deeply loved by God, fully known by Him, and never beyond His reach.

< Back

God cares for me when I place my burdens in His hands.

1 Peter 5:7

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

Peter encourages believers facing pressure to entrust their anxieties to God because His care for them is real. This does not mean every burden disappears immediately, but it does mean we do not have to carry our fears as though we are alone.

Jesus welcomes me to come to Him when I am weary.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus does not ask weary people to become stronger before coming to Him. He invites them to bring their burdens directly to Him. The rest He gives is rooted in relationship with Him, not in pretending that life is easy.

I can be still and remember that God is sovereign.

Psalm 46:10

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.”

Psalm 46 speaks into turmoil and instability and points God’s people back to His rule over all things. Being still does not mean ignoring responsibilities or denying hardship; it means releasing the need to control everything and remembering who God is.
