Abiding Instead of Achieving

“Abide in Me, and I in you.”
— John 15:4

Reflection

We are wired to achieve.

But we were created to abide.

Abiding means staying connected. Remaining. Dwelling.

It is less about accomplishing for God and more about living from Him.

When you abide, fruit grows naturally.

Peace strengthens quietly. Wisdom forms gently.

You don’t have to force spiritual growth.

You stay close — and growth follows.

Prayer

Lord, shift my focus from achieving for You to abiding with You. Teach me to remain. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.

Reflection Questions:

  • In what areas of my life have I been striving to produce fruit instead of simply staying connected to Jesus?

  • What practical step can I take today to intentionally “remain” with Him — even in the middle of my responsibilities?

Today's Thought

I choose abiding over achieving.
