God Is Nearer Than You Think

Psalm 145:18
“The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth.”

Reflection

We often imagine God’s nearness as something that must be earned through intensity or effort. But Scripture tells us something quieter and more accessible — He is near to all who call on Him.

Nearness is not about emotional volume. It is about relational honesty. To call on Him “in truth” means to come without performance. Without polishing your words. Without pretending you are stronger than you are.

You do not have to ascend to meet Him. He is already close. A whispered prayer. A turning of your attention. A moment of surrender. He meets you there.

Prayer

Lord, I forget how near You are. Slow my heart and help me become aware of Your presence today. Teach me to call on You honestly and without fear. Thank You for being closer than I realize. Amen.

Reflection Questions
  1. When do I feel most aware of God’s nearness?

  2. What keeps me from calling on Him honestly?

  3. How can I practice awareness of His presence today?

Today’s Thought
