You Can Come Just As You Are

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Reflection

There’s a quiet question that often sits in the heart. Can I really come to Jesus like this? With everything I’ve done. With everything I’m still struggling with. With the parts of me I don’t even understand?

And sometimes, without realizing it, we begin to believe:

“I need to get my life together first.”
“I need to fix a few things before I come.”
“I need to be better  then maybe God will accept me.”

But Jesus says something very different.

He doesn’t say:

“Clean yourself up, then come.”
“Fix everything, then come.”
“Figure it all out, then come.”

He simply says:

“Come to Me.”

Not when you’re stronger.
Not when you’re better.
Not when everything makes sense.

Now.

He is not waiting for a future version of you. He is inviting you, right here, as you are.

Weary?
Come.

Burdened?
Come.

Unsure?
Come.

There is nothing in you that surprises Him.  Nothing He hasn’t already seen. Nothing that makes Him step back.

In fact, the very places you feel most hesitant about are often the places He wants to meet you the most. Because Jesus doesn’t begin with fixing you. He begins with receiving you.

And as you come something begins to shift. Not because you forced change but because you encountered Him. This is where real transformation starts.

Not in striving.
Not in pressure.

But in presence.

You don’t have to clean up everything before you come. You can bring it with you.

Prayer

Jesus,

I’ve been holding back. Thinking I needed to be different, better, more put together, before I could come to You. But today, I hear Your invitation. You’re not asking me to fix everything first. You’re simply asking me to come. So here I am. With everything I carry, everything I don’t understand,
everything I’ve been trying to hide. I bring it to You. And I trust that You will meet me here.

Amen.

  3. Is there anything you’ve been holding back from Him?

Today’s Thought

You don’t come to Jesus because you’re ready. You come to Him because He is.
