When God
Feels Far Away
You long to feel close to God again, but prayer feels empty, Scripture feels quiet, and you’re wondering if He has stepped away. You’re not alone—and you are not beyond His reach.
Just Because God Feels Far Away Doesn’t Mean He Is
Everyone experiences seasons when God feels silent.
Sometimes life becomes busy.
Sometimes pain makes it difficult to pray.
Sometimes disappointment causes us to slowly withdraw.
Sometimes nothing happened at all—you simply don’t feel His presence the way you once did.
But feelings are not always reliable
indicators of God’s presence.
Even when you cannot sense Him, God has not abandoned you.
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him.”
— Psalm 145:18
There are many reasons God may feel distant.

You may be exhausted.

You may have slowly stopped making room to spend time with Him.

You may be overwhelmed by anxiety.

You may be carrying grief.

Or perhaps you're walking through a season where God is inviting you to trust His promises.
Whatever the reason His invitation remains the same:
" Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."
James 4:8

Take One Small Step Toward Jesus
-
Tell God honestly how you're feeling.
-
Read one Psalm
-
Sit quietly for five minutes
-
Thank God for one blessing
-
Ask Him to help you.
-
Notice His presence today
Every relationship grows through
small moments of connection.

God has never stopped pursuing you.
Even if you feel far away today, He is closer than you realize. God is faithful, He has promised to never leave you or forsake you.
