A Dream, A Message, and the Unshakable Presence of God
Sometimes, the Lord speaks to me through dreams. I think it’s mainly because my mind is always spinning, chewing on something, and—let’s be honest—I never really stop talking. I usually don’t share these dreams, partly because they feel deeply personal, and partly because, well, they’re dreams. But when I do have them, they leave an imprint so deep that I know I will remember them for the rest of my life. Each one is a precious gift to me.
Today, I feel compelled to share one particular dream because the message I received from the Lord was so profound, and I believe it’s meant to be shared.
The Dream
In the dream, I was standing next to Christ. We were watching a group of children in a classroom through a large open window. I didn’t understand why I was there, but then I heard what sounded like a news broadcast. It was reporting on a devastating attack—fanatics were targeting people, hoping to destroy them and make their families grieve. The destruction was unlike anything I had ever seen, and the suffering was unimaginable.
Terror gripped me. My instinct was to run into the classroom, to warn the teacher and the children, to tell them to run. But the Lord said, “Not yet.”
I stood there, anxious, on guard, ready to move. Again, I turned to Him, and again, He said, “Not yet.” Instead, He told me to wait, promising that He would let me know when it was time.
So I waited. Sometimes I wandered a little, stepping away, but I always found my way back to His side. Other times, I turned away, caught up in watching the children go about their everyday lives. And then, suddenly, a bomb was dropped. The explosion was near. I turned to the Lord in desperation. “Now? Is it now?” But even then, He said, “No.”
I didn’t understand why we weren’t moving—why He wasn’t letting me act. But then, at just the right moment, He said, “Now.”
I ran into the classroom, grabbed a table, and told the teacher and children to take cover. As we crouched behind the table, I felt the force of the explosion. The heat, the impact—it was terrifying. I thought I wouldn’t be able to hold up our little barrier. Fear consumed me.
And then, the Lord showed me the truth: I wasn’t the one holding up the table—He was.
The blast came, and the table bowed under the pressure, but it never failed. Silence followed. I turned to Jesus and asked, “Now what?”
And He simply said, “Have the children follow Me.”
So I told the teacher and the children, “Follow Jesus.” And we did. We walked through the classroom door and left the destruction behind.
A Revelation of God’s Presence
When I woke up, something had changed in me. For the first time in my life, I truly understood what it meant that Jesus is always with me.
He was with me when I wandered.
He was with me when I stood still.
He was with me when I ran into chaos.
He was the one holding up our shield, protecting us.
He was the one leading us out to safety.
And for the first time, I had no fear in sharing a message from God with strangers: He loves you. He is calling each and every child on this earth to follow Him.
It is a peace and assurance I cannot fully explain, but I feel it deep in my soul, written into my very DNA.
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” – Psalm 18:2
Jesus is with us in the worst moments. He is the one holding the shield. He is the one protecting us. He is the one leading us.
And He is speaking to all of His children on this earth to every tribe and nation “Follow Me”
So today if you hear His voice – please listen – He is standing next to you and is calling your name, all you have to do is turn to Him. So that when you are in His presence you too may feel the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Blessings and peace to you today, dear friends,
Maria
