2 John
2 John takes its name from John, traditionally understood to be the apostle, who identifies himself in the letter as “the elder.” Written to “the elect lady and her children,” the letter encourages believers to continue walking in truth and love while remaining alert to teachers who deny the truth about Jesus Christ. 2 John shows that Christian love is inseparable from faithfulness to truth and calls believers to live with both compassion and discernment.
