2 Kings
2 Kings continues the history of Israel and Judah as both kingdoms move steadily toward exile. The book records the ministries of prophets such as Elijah and Elisha, the rise and fall of kings, repeated warnings from God, and the consequences of persistent idolatry and covenant unfaithfulness. Even as judgment draws near, God continues to speak, warn, preserve, and show mercy. 2 Kings reveals the Lord as the sovereign God of history whose word proves true, whose patience should not be mistaken for indifference, and whose faithfulness remains even when His people are unfaithful.
