2 Samuel
2 Samuel continues the story of David as he becomes king over Israel and establishes Jerusalem as the center of the kingdom. The book records both the victories of David’s reign and the devastating consequences of his personal failures, showing the complexity of a leader who deeply loved God yet still sinned grievously. Through triumph, repentance, family conflict, and loss, 2 Samuel reveals the Lord as faithful to His covenant promises, just in His judgment, and merciful toward those who genuinely turn back to Him. It also points forward to God’s promise of an enduring kingdom through David’s line.
