Daniel
Daniel takes its name from the prophet Daniyyel (דָּנִיֵּאל), whose name means “God is my judge.” Set largely during the Babylonian and Persian exiles, the book follows Daniel and his friends as they remain faithful to God while living under foreign rule. Through court stories, visions, and prophetic imagery, Daniel shows God’s sovereignty over kings, kingdoms, and history. It reveals the Lord as the Most High who preserves His people, rules over every earthly power, and will ultimately establish His everlasting kingdom.
