Exodus

Exodus means “departure” or “going out.” Its Hebrew name, Shemot (שְׁמוֹת), means “names” and comes from the opening words, “These are the names.” Exodus tells the story of God delivering His people from slavery in Egypt, leading them through the wilderness, establishing His covenant with them, and giving instructions for the tabernacle so He might dwell among them. It reveals the Lord as Redeemer, Deliverer, Lawgiver, and the God who faithfully makes a way for His people.
