Habakkuk

Habakkuk takes its name from the prophet Chavaqquq (חֲבַקּוּק), whose name may be related to the idea of “embracing.” The book begins with Habakkuk questioning God about violence, injustice, and why evil seems to go unanswered. God responds by revealing that judgment is coming, though not in the way Habakkuk expects. Through this honest dialogue, Habakkuk moves from confusion to trust. The book reveals the Lord as just and sovereign—the God whose ways may be difficult to understand, but whose faithfulness gives His people reason to trust Him even when circumstances remain uncertain.
