Haggai

Haggai takes its name from the prophet Chaggai (חַגַּי), whose name is related to “festival” or “feast.” Haggai speaks to the people of Judah after their return from exile, when the rebuilding of the temple had stalled and other priorities had taken its place. Through a series of direct messages, he calls the people to reconsider their ways and put God’s work first. Haggai reveals the Lord as present, faithful, and worthy of wholehearted devotion—the God who strengthens His people to rebuild and promises that His purposes will not fail.
