Leviticus

Leviticus takes its English name from the Greek title meaning “relating to the Levites.” Its Hebrew name, Vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא), means “And He called,” from the opening words of the book. Leviticus gives Israel instructions for worship, sacrifice, priesthood, purity, holy living, and the appointed feasts. At its heart is the call to live as a people set apart for God. It reveals the Lord as holy and gracious—the God who provides a way for sinful people to draw near to Him and teaches His people how to live in His presence.
