Obadiah

Obadiah takes its name from the prophet Ovadyah (עֹבַדְיָה), whose name means “servant of the LORD.” The shortest book in the Old Testament, Obadiah speaks judgment against Edom for pride, violence, and taking advantage of Judah’s suffering. The book warns that no nation is beyond God’s justice and that pride will not stand forever. Obadiah reveals the Lord as righteous and sovereign—the God who defends His people, judges evil, and promises that His kingdom will ultimately prevail.
