Philemon

Philemon takes its name from Philemon, one of the believers addressed in this short personal letter from Paul. The letter is also addressed to Apphia, Archippus, and the church meeting in their house. Paul appeals on behalf of Onesimus, asking that he be received not merely according to his former social position but as a beloved brother in Christ. Philemon shows how the gospel reshapes relationships through grace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and love, calling believers to see and treat one another differently because they belong to Christ.
