Revelation

Revelation takes its name from the opening word of the book, apokalypsis (ἀποκάλυψις), meaning “revelation” or “unveiling.” Written by John to seven churches in Asia Minor, the book uses vivid visions and symbolic imagery to reveal the spiritual reality behind earthly events and to encourage believers facing pressure, compromise, and suffering. Revelation presents Jesus as the risen and reigning Lamb who will ultimately defeat evil, judge with justice, and make all things new. It calls God’s people to remain faithful, worship Him alone, and live with hope in the certainty of Christ’s final victory.
