Knowing God Through Experience
Scripture:
āTaste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.ā (Psalm 34:8)
Reflection:
Knowing God isnāt just about reading or listening; itās about experiencing Him. The psalmist invites us to ātaste and seeā that the Lord is good ā a call to personal encounter. Just as tasting food is different from hearing about it, experiencing God is different from simply knowing about Him.
We experience God in many ways: through answered prayer, His peace in the midst of chaos, His comfort in grief, and His guidance in decision-making. These experiences build a foundation of intimacy. They remind us that God is not an abstract idea but a living, active presence in our lives.
Sometimes we experience God most profoundly in trials. When our strength fails, His strength sustains us. When our hearts break, His love carries us. These moments may be painful, but they leave us with an undeniable awareness of His goodness.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to taste and see Your goodness in new ways today. Let my life be filled with real encounters with Your presence and love.
Reflection Questions:
When have I most clearly experienced Godās goodness in my life?
2. How can I stay attentive to His presence in my everyday experiences?
