Eternal Life Is Knowing God

Scripture:

 “Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.”(John 17:3)

Reflection:

 Eternal life is not just a future promise; it begins now. Jesus defines eternal life as knowing God and knowing Himself. Salvation is not just an escape from judgment or a ticket to heaven — it is an invitation into an ongoing relationship with the living God.

When we think of eternal life, we often focus on its length — forever. But Jesus shifts our perspective to its depth — a life defined by relationship with Him. This means that every moment we spend seeking God, every prayer, every step of obedience is already participation in eternal life.

Knowing God now prepares us for eternity. Heaven will not be foreign to those who already know the Father and the Son. It will be the fulfillment of the relationship we have been cultivating all along. To know Him is to experience eternal life here and now.

Prayer:

 Father, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Jesus. Help me to live each day in the joy and reality of knowing You personally.
