The Joy of Abiding
Scripture:
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11)
Reflection:
Abiding in Christ not only brings peace but also joy. Jesus promises that when we remain in Him, His joy will fill us to overflowing. This joy is not shallow happiness based on circumstances but deep, abiding gladness rooted in His presence.
Joy in abiding means we can rejoice even in trials, because our joy is not tied to what is happening around us but to who is within us. His joy becomes our strength, sustaining us through difficulties.
The world offers temporary pleasures, but only Jesus gives joy that lasts. Abiding connects us to the true source of joy, which no one can take away.
Prayer:
Jesus, fill me with Your joy as I abide in You. Help me to find my strength and gladness in Your presence, no matter what my circumstances.
Reflection Questions:
Do I experience joy as a result of abiding in Christ?
2. How does His joy differ from worldly happiness?
