Our Bodies for His Glory
Scripture:
“You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
Reflection:
Paul reminds believers that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. This truth reframes how we think about ourselves. Our bodies are not our own — they belong to God, purchased by the blood of Christ. Because of this, how we live in our bodies matters deeply.
Glorifying God with our bodies includes purity, integrity, and stewardship. It means using our bodies as instruments for His service, not indulging in sin. It also means caring for our physical health as an act of stewardship, since our bodies house His Spirit.
When we remember that we are temples of the living God, it brings dignity to even the smallest choices. Whether in what we eat, how we speak, or how we serve, we have the privilege of honoring God with the very bodies He created.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for making my body a temple of Your Spirit. Help me to use it to glorify You in purity, service, and stewardship.
Reflection Questions:
Do I view my body as belonging to God, not to myself?
2. How can I glorify Him with my body this week?
