Love Expressed Through Obedience

“If you love Me, keep My commands.” (John 14:15)
Reflection:
Jesus links love and obedience inseparably. Obedience is not about legalism or fear; it is about relationship. When we love someone, we want to honor and please them. The same is true in our walk with God; obedience is the natural overflow of love.
Sometimes we separate love and obedience, treating love as affection and obedience as duty. But Jesus reminds us that true love for Him shows up in action. Words of devotion are important, but they must be matched with a life that reflects submission to His will.
Obedience also brings us closer to God. Each “yes” deepens intimacy, builds trust, and demonstrates that our love is genuine. It is through obedience that we align our lives with His purposes and experience the fullness of His blessing.
Prayer:
Jesus, help me to show my love for You not only with words but with obedience. Teach me to follow Your commands with a joyful heart.
