Trusting God in Fear
Scripture:
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” (Psalm 56:3)
Reflection:
Fear is a natural human response, but it does not have to control us. David, who faced enemies, betrayal, and danger, declared that in the moments he was afraid, he chose to trust God. Notice that trust did not erase fear instantly — it was a decision in the midst of fear.
Trusting God in fear means shifting our focus from what threatens us to the One who protects us. Fear magnifies problems, but trust magnifies God’s presence and power. When we remember who He is — our refuge, strength, and deliverer — fear begins to lose its grip.
This doesn’t mean life will always be easy or danger will vanish. But it means that in every fearful situation, we are not alone. Trust says, “God is with me, even here.”
Prayer:
Father, when fear rises in my heart, help me turn to You instead of letting it overwhelm me. Remind me that You are greater than anything I face.
Reflection Questions:
What fears do I need to place in God’s hands today?
2. How has trusting Him in the past helped me overcome fear?
